CTA Forum: Partners in Progress
The CTA Forum: Partners in Progress brought together the full spectrum of community tourism stakeholders for a morning of meaningful collaboration and shared purpose. The event featured a panel discussion centered around the theme, “Inside the Visitor’s Mind: The Essentials of Crafting Unforgettable Experiences,” presentations from keynote speakers, an exhibition of CTA partnership businesses, and partner testimonials. To set the context, remarks from the CTA’s Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Dahlia Guard, underscored the value of partnership, standards, and continued growth within the sector. In her address, she noted, “We work with Saint Lucians to create authentic experiences. Across Saint Lucia, we are witnessing a shift—powerful, tangible, and deeply inspiring.”
The forum highlighted real stories of partnership in action through testimonials from actively engaged CTA partners who are benefiting from the agency’s support. These included Dean Joseph of Cook Like a Lucian in Vieux Fort, who shared his journey in developing a culinary experience where visitors learn to prepare authentic Saint Lucian dishes. Andrew Shepherd of Pedals Paradise in Canaries also spoke about his upcoming community e-bike experience, which will feature river stops, nature immersion, and a farm-to-table element.
The event also featured a dynamic partner showcase, giving CTA partners the opportunity to network with destination management companies, cruise industry representatives, concierges, and other stakeholders while bringing their products and experiences to life. Demonstrations included live artwork from Ron Henry Art Studio, weaving displays from SLIMS Weaving Haven, tastings of sea moss–infused products from Kayak on the Bay, and interactive presentations from Garmaii Boutique and Diner, ATV Xperience, and Eastern Exotic ATV Tours.
A major highlight of the forum was the recognition of newly endorsed partners. The CTA celebrated their achievement in meeting required standards, completing necessary training, and demonstrating readiness to deliver safe, high-quality visitor experiences. Among the seven partners recognized was Mr. Elius Ford, owner of Eastern Exotic ATV Tours, who received the CTA’s first official plaque of endorsement for his consistent participation, strong engagement, and proactive efforts to enhance safety practices and overall operations.
Insights from industry professionals further reinforced the importance of collaboration and quality within the sector. Mr. Louis Lewis, CEO of the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, spoke to the critical role of community-based tourism in strengthening the national tourism product and broadening economic benefits across communities. Branding Specialist Mr. Darwin Guard emphasized the importance of brand management, storytelling, and consistency, which shape how visitors perceive and connect with local experiences.
This was followed by an engaging panel session that brought together professionals from Saint Lucia Cruise Port, Solar Tours and Travel, Serenity Vacations and Tours, and Sandals Grande Saint Lucian. Panelists shared practical guidance on product development, enhancing service quality, strengthening branding, and adopting sustainable approaches within a competitive global tourism environment. Their insights offered partners clear direction on delivering excellence, regardless of the size or stage of their business.
The CTA expresses sincere thanks to all partners, stakeholders, and collaborators who contributed to the success of CTA Forum: Partners in Progress. Together, we reaffirm our shared commitment to creating community tourism experiences rooted in quality, authenticity, and a unified vision for a diversified Saint Lucian product.
