The Official Opening of The View @ The Morne

The Community Tourism Agency (CTA), in partnership with the CARICOM Development Fund (CDF), the Government of Saint Lucia, and the Ministry of Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Information officially launched, “The View at the Morne – Visitor Stop Center” located in Morne Fortune, Castries on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. This new attraction is a bold step in redefining tourism in Saint Lucia—anchored in ownership, opportunity, and national pride.

Perched at one of the island’s most breathtaking vantage points, “The View at the Morne” is more than a scenic stop. It is a purpose-driven development, created to support Saint Lucian entrepreneurs and connect visitors to authentic, locally made pieces and experiences. This project was made possible through funding from the CDF, whose investment supports the CTA’s broader goal of empowering communities through sustainable tourism.

“This space is a landmark of possibility,” said Dahlia Guard, Chief Executive Officer of the CTA. “It represents our shared belief that tourism must benefit our people—where vendors, artisans, and storytellers are not just participants, but owners and innovators in the industry. The CDF’s support goes far beyond infrastructure; it’s an investment in people, pride, and a thriving future.”

The CDF’s Chief Executive Officer, Rodinald Soomer, reaffirmed the Fund’s commitment to community empowerment. “This infrastructure includes over 4,000 sq. ft. of space, which will accommodate 21 or more vendors, along with bathroom facilities and overnight storage for their products,” he said. “The CDF is extremely proud to be a financing partner—first helping to design and subsequently providing funding to implement the community tourism program in Saint Lucia, as well as the establishment of the Community Tourism Agency.”

The venue is a key feature in Castries’ experience itinerary and is expected to attract cruise passengers, stayover visitors, and locals. But its real impact lies in what it enables: vendor training, improved product offerings, digital payment integration, and customer experience enhancements—all with a strong focus on authenticity and storytelling.

This launch reflects a shift in how tourism is being developed and experienced in Saint Lucia—making it more inclusive, locally led, and sustainable.
