CTA and SALCC Empower Laborie Accommodation Owners with Certification in Community Tourism and Hospitality

Fourteen accommodation owners from the Laborie community have successfully completed the Community Tourism Basic Training Programme and the Hospitality Programme, specializing in housekeeping. This comprehensive training was conducted in collaboration with the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College (SALCC) and supported by the Community Tourism Agency (CTA). The participants have gained essential skills to enhance the quality of their services, ensuring they are better equipped to meet the growing demands of the local tourism sector.

Through this specialized training, the owners have not only learned industry best practices but have also received professional certification, further strengthening their credentials within the tourism industry. With this certification, the graduates are now officially endorsed by the CTA, highlighting their commitment to providing high-quality experiences for visitors to the region.

The collaboration between the CTA and SALCC underscores the importance of bridging the gap between education and entrepreneurship. By empowering small business owners with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel, the program helps foster a stronger, more sustainable tourism sector in Saint Lucia. The CTA remains dedicated to supporting local entrepreneurs and communities, ensuring they have the tools to thrive in the competitive tourism industry.
